I pretty much agree with this, the E39 was nicely proportioned though. The E46 was dull, so very predictable (I even have a fairly precise sketch of it from 2 years prior to release, that’s how predictable), it also lost the long bonnet coupe from the E36.
Was it VW who started it was because they’d pushed up componentry that in a Tesla and ICE cars is located under the dash. If it wasn't then I imagine it's the same reason.
