A quick, off the cuff top 5:
"San Junipero", Black Mirror
"Episode 6", Fleabag
"B.A.N.", Atlanta
"Last One Out of Beach City", Steven Universe
"Enter the Super Grisham", Lady Dynamite

LOL

I'll put it this way, S2's second half > S1 > S2's first half. All you're saying is true, but I still don't like how the show felt like it was spinning wheels in the first half of the season. Also the ending with its pointed lack of resolution frustrated me a bit, but that's even more subjective.

Every minute of that show was perfectly constructed. I mean just look at that linked clip, one minute that lets off a rapid fire of beats while revealing so much about each character and explicitly saying so little. Especially the last two episodes were masterpieces. And that ending completely gutted me. I'll follow

DECEMBER 23 GET HYPE

Kind of infuriating is my specialty.

Nice to see some more Galavant love out there. Gone too soon.

I'm the only speaking the truth out here.

Thanks!

Oh man, the second season was so good. It had a rough middle section of wheel spinning, but when this show can pull all its threads together it becomes a masterpiece in clockwork plotting.

Yeah, it's still one of the most interestingly directed shows, and S2 had so many bold, fun scenes like the fake sitcom. It wasn't as good as last season but I still loved it.

It was so bold and sincere. The debut performance of The Get Down Brothers in the finale was a moment of pure joy you rarely see TV capture. That's more than enough to make up for some unevenness.

Oh yeah, that's a tricky line to walk.

Just letting you know that if you ever did, you'd have a lot of people there welcoming you with open arms.

Those 6 episodes they did drop though were a very great intro though. Uneven in the start, but the slow build in confidence and voice was electric to follow. Really excited for part 2 to drop now that it's fully formed.

No one voted for Childrens Hospital either, so I'm stewing too.

I'm kind of over prestige dramas at this point, unless they're particularly weird (Westworld) or have a lighter touch to them (Better Call Saul). It's been harder for me to get on board with shows that present a totally straight face.

It's because I'm a brave man, the only one telling the truth out here by acknowledging The Get Down exists. No one else will.

The show deserves recognition for "Outside Bones" alone.

"At least TV is good" will probably be my final words as the bombs drop.
