Also, this was the first episode I think I really appreciated the sheer variety and badassery of the female characters here. We had a plot pivotal moment of Korra fighting Kuvira, with Opal, Jinora, and Su Yin having major presences in the scene, and the fact that they're all women isn't even one worth pointing out,

"Varrick: The Greatest Fictional Character Ever?"

Let me try expanding it. "When the mainstream media switched from hating her to loving her because we found out there's more people in the latter camp and we want to pander to whichever group's the biggest."

Because it works, and why put $100 million on the line trying something that might not work if you can just go with the safe, boring path?

I dunno, I thought this was super funny. But then I think this is the second Cameron Esposito piece I've read, so I guess I can't judge as well as everyone else here can.

A Burroughs protagonist (either John Carter or Tarzan) seems like an obvious pick. If we want another folktale, I bet they could also do something cool with Johnny Appleseed.

Between this and the gloriously batshit Code Name: STEAM, looks like we have a strong pair of new Nintendo IPs for this coming year. (A pair and a half throwing in the charming Captain Toad spinoff).

BUT ABRAHAM LINCOLN! TOM SAWYER! TIGER LILY!

Sadly. I think the potential is there.

WALTON GOGGINS!!!!!! Not his first Tarantino, but hopefully his first with a sizeable role

Can we talk about Code Name: STEAM, and how batshit insane it looks? Abraham Lincoln leads famous turn of the century literary characters in a turn based third-person shooter! Every part of that's ridiculous! I love it!

Before being canceled probably.

Ugh, a shame. David Caspe and that cast deserve better success, even if this isn't great.

I keep forgetting how unrepresentative MoCo is, that'd explain it.

So glad Dichen Lachman is looking like she has a major role on this show. And she's really kickass too! Between that, Enver Gjokaj being cast in Agent Carter, Olivia Williams on Manhattan, and Amy Acker on Person of Interest, things are finally looking up for the Dollhouse cast. Now someone please cast Fran Kranz in

The quicker this show realizes it's not Happy Endings and actually finds unique strengths in its cast, the quicker it will actually get good. I don't really mind reheated HE leftovers, but I really hope that's not all this show has to offer.

Too late.

I'll reply to this cause it's near the top, but after reading these (very nice!) comments (thank you all!) and doing some introspecting, I think I've discovered a more root problem which is a need imbalance. Namely, she's a college student, so her life is on a track right now, and one that she's fine on (good grades,

I'm gonna really up the awful feelings here, because you know what this post reminds me of? Gamer Gate. Everyone there is so upset about "bias" towards gender criticism in their "news sites" that are actually blogs that they're willing to indiscriminately harass women in their stupid, impotent rage. NEWS FLASH! Having

Good news is I don't think there's anything wrong with her. I'm just afraid of getting invested I guess.
