I feel like this post doesn't give enough credit to the actual lesbian kiss that happened in the episode.

Me too. The trend is those actors know exactly what this kind of show should be. Mini-Catwoman also knows what's up.

I also really dug Mckenzie's monologue at the end. Though that might just be me.

It's Silver Age Batman playing dress up in the guise of grim and gritty.

Repent for your insults against Ben Mckenzie.

The rule of thumb is, if you travel in the TARDIS for more than two consecutive adventures, you're a companion. I suppose it's up for debate, but the fact that Arthur Darvill got billing in the opening credits for one and a half seasons means his status is pretty assured IMO.

I agree, but that's kind of an exception given it's Paul Cornell writing Ace with her older, VNA personality.

Heaven forbid you're black and overlap with any stereotypes or this will come up constantly. It's not really specific, just dumb people who think those kind of insults are funny.

<pedantry>Technically, Rory hasn't been in an interracial relationship either</pedantry>, but I get you're point, and that's one great thing about this show. Diversity in race and sexuality is presented very frankly, and often.

Don't remind me about all the racist remarks I've heard about the new Doctor Who characters.

Except part of the first batch of reviews were pilot reviews, which makes these complaints even more nonsensical.

I've heard his VA is difficult to work with. Can't remember where though.

From what I've heard, yeah.

I know that would be the bigger get, but I think I'd be even happier with a Timothy Simons or Anna Chlumsky performance.

That sounds more like an Iannucci riff WHICH I WOULD LOVE EVEN MORE

I don't see why an improvement needs a fair warning. No offense to Mirman, Kline, and Mullally.

Ugh, I guess we have to watch it again tomorrow. What a bother.

New thought: A full on West Wing parody. If any show can make walking and talking funny, it's this one.

As someone who actually produced and starred in guerrilla plays in the basement of an academic building, this episode really spoke to me. I gotta love any TV that's so fully in favor of theatrical creativity.

Here's a call for an episode based on Linda's dream.
