I have a similar experience where I got to be Captain Brackett in South Pacific. Of course, it's probably because he has no songs, so the director could showcase my talents as an actor without spotlighting my shitty singing voice haha.

I wish I was more versed in musicals, but I'm versed enough to know that liking Spring Awakening, Last 5 Years, and Urinetown indicates good taste.

That sounds exactly like Yu-Gi-Oh.

I stopped watching around Noah's arc, so I'll take your word on that.

Sharknado was surprisingly watchable. A consistently entertaining movie throughout (outside of that too long bus sequence) that wore it's low budget as a badge of honor rather than a hinderance. So I actually am cautiously excited for the sequel, in spite of myself.

Season 4 is the clear low point of the show. Season 5 has some wonky plotting too, but the tighter focus from less episodes and the great finale help it out. Hope you enjoy it!

And the DVD is already out? That's really fast, but I guess you have to strike when the iron is hot.

My favorite is the one that gave me my username.

How could they pass him up? He is the Ring Leader of all snarky semi-villains in television.

I was really confused because he died in season 2, and then I read your comment again and realized that I guess this means the final season has been out for a while if there's a DVD. Damn, time to watch that I guess.

You're right, when I said "anime series" I meant "the mainstream ones for children that were shown on Saturday mornings". Digimon had a clear leg above Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragonball, etc. in the characterization department, but I don't mean to put it in the same league as Fullmetal Alchemist or Cowboy Bebop.

I don't disagree with that, but I still feel let down by it. I think I expected too much out of Brave.

That's true, he did have that whole complex that made for some good drama. Man, now I'm remembering how well built a lot of those characters were, not something typical for an anime series.

I refuse to believe the Toy Story films, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Wall-E aren't all amazing, A+ films.

An interesting theory, but I wound up enjoying a lot of their films much more when I was older than when I was a kid, and was able to find a lot of nuance to their scripts and direction in the pre-2011 films. Though I guess I also did not have as much expectation going into any of them since now I'm more connected to

I'm claiming a second Disney renaissance based on Winnie-the-Pooh and Wreck-it-Ralph, so is that better?

Sounds fun! I'll probably see it, and hopefully I'll enjoy it more now that I've given up on Pixar ever delivering something truly special again, which sounds depressing, but it's also true. At least we have the mainhouse Disney studio finally finding its feet again.

Brave took a fresh concept, focusing on a mother-daughter relationship, and filled it with a rote plot and even roter jokes. I enjoyed it, but I wanted to be more surprised by it. I think I've all gotten too used to Pixar.

I don't know the books that well, but I love Oberyn. If they're even half as entertaining as him, seeing more Dornes can only be a good thing.
