Whoops, sorry.
Whoops, sorry.
I'm not denying that. That's totally possible. What we're debating is whether he'll be prone to give optimistic, flamboyant speeches.
It worked in the 60s and 70s.
Nah. The people who hate BBT and Nickelback try to ignore them. The people who really hate Who are the ones who love the show the most. Being angry at how Who could be better is an essential part of being a Who fan. Just look at literally any Who comment section here.
Why? She had a whole season and a half to prove herself and all she did was scream, basically. Vicki was such a big improvment. *shoves glasses up nose*
Capaldi said in interviews his Doctor will be grumpier and closer to older incarnations in personality. Moffat backed him up. At least that's what they're aiming for, even if it doesn't wind up happening.
If only Clara was even half as awesome as Barbara.
Remember when Prime Clara was going to be from the Victorian era? Or we thought that we'd get a whole bunch of different Claras rather than just the modern day one during season 7B? Those were the days. I think it was the BBC who made that call though.
You should pop into one of the AV Club's Doctor Who reviews sometime, realize how crazy the lot of us are.
Can you be called an Anglophile if you already live in the UK?
And yet the only thing they could think to do with her is throw her into a romance plot.
Bernice Summerfield! At least if we're counting fake degrees…
If the Lego Movie and Roger Rabbit could pull it off…
A Ready Player One movie would be awful. A Ready Player One TV series that took some liberties with the source material (mostly by unpacking that super crowded last third)? That could be awesome. Take my money HBO!
CCC being released was pretty much the only event I was there for. That was funny stuff.
Ugh, it's a problem. I already have too much on my plate this weekend and that's just been a constant distraction. I manage to go one whole day without it, and of course it's the most eventful day since the False Prophet fiasco. The bizarre mythology just draws you in.
For the first time in my life I'm stage managing a show. I'm a replacement, the old one quit, and so my college's theater department asked itself "gee, who's that one senior who won't say no to more work?" It's been fun! But stressful.
The Fourth Doctor started in 1975, year after those two, IIRC.
I can see how, if you're predisposed to like that vein of sci-fi, you'd like the story. There were some cool moments in it I'll give you that, but it just felt very uninteresting to me. I prefer sillier Who though, so it's all a matter of taste.
