I think (though I could be wrong) that you may be misunderstanding the term “cleared the whatever”. AFAIK it doesn’t mean they’ve removed all the people from it, it merely means they’ve gone through it and cleared it of all perceived threats.

I’ll admit to not being up-to-date on police terminology, but I think you’re misunderstanding the term “clear the room”. AFAIK it doesn’t mean they’ve cleared the room of people, it means they’ve gone through and cleared it of any perceived threat. i.e. in a hostage situation the room is “cleared” after the hostage

This “OMG IF YOU’RE BLACK RUN FROM POLICE NO MATTER WHAT CUZ THEY’RE ALL TRYING TO KILL YOU” narrative is tired and false.

“We’re not locking people up, executing them, putting them away for years denying their liberty”

Weird. When I first read it I read “I like that, right” as the response to her question if she can come.

while his use of cannabis has so far had no side effects

Charged by whom? We aren’t talking accusations to police, we’re talking accusations to the school board/admins/Rolling Stone/whatever.

Common sense speaking, but just because there wasn’t a shooter doesn’t mean they didn’t get a description of one. People give inaccurate/incorrect reports all the time. People hear a pop, look over, see a fat white man standing where the pop came from, and after running into officers asking about the shooter say it

So, to follow that analogy, yes. Deport the parents. And if the children are too young to support themselves, the parents will presumably take them with. But if the children ARE living on their own, then the analogy would be evicting some 25 year old living from his own apartment because their parent couldn’t pay

So, Microsoft is Japanese?

Uhm. I’d have to argue packing and shipping is even more prone to automation than retail clerk. (Heck, I’m surprised to learn it isn’t already automated.)

1. I never indicated (or at least intended to indicate) they’d be actually locked up in a jail cell. I know police stations have public areas, conference rooms, etc. And I expect jails do to.

Which raises a point I’ve been curious about for some time. If the kid’s a dreamer, doesn’t that almost certainly mean the parents are illegal, and aren’t under DACA protection? So how is it they haven’t been deported years ago, likely taking their Dreamer with them?

But you don’t require the child to take a breathalyzer to turn on their car because their parent is an alcoholic. There’s a difference between being affected by actions, and being punished for actions.

And Trump is, for good or for ill, forcing a showdown between the two.

“Not everyone who is here ‘illegally’ broke the law, such as people I know; for instance”

Strictly speaking, wasn’t Harvey dumping on Houston for more than a day? The Storm may have dumped ~52 inches of rain on Houston, but that doesn’t mean it did so “in hours”... and ~52 isn’t 60.

Part of the theory is that being a sexual predator (according to shrinks) isn’t something “you get over”. (Note: This is under the assumption that the whole “sexual predator” designation is only being applied to actual sexual predators, and not an 18 year old who had sex with his 17 year old girl friend.) They are

*shrug* The 6 month delay does exactly what anybody sane would expect it to. It lets roughly 1/4 (2 years divided by 6 months) get an extra 2 years. (and yes, does give congress some time to pass actual legislation, though not, of course the full 6 months as the Dreamers whose time is up shortly after the 5th would
