I’m just going to point out that your original advice is very difficult to interpret correctly, and is not at all the same as “the direction that the rear of the car is trying to go”:

I think Fuel_of_Satan is, like me, confused by your phrasing. To me, ‘turning into the slide not in the direction you wish the car were going’ is contradictory. If the back end of my car is sliding out left, I will turn the wheels to the left, which is both into the slide and the direction I wish the car was going to
