Thank you for this post. I wasn’t aware of the extent of the US’s complicity in the persecution. It is damning how poorly this has been covered in the mainstream news (especially compared to the unrest in the Middle East type stories that were so common during the Obama presidency).

Riot Pride (which is what I am calling this June) has brought some things into clear focus for me. White gays out here...appropriating so brazenly from Black women and queer people...while perpetrating white supremacy and toxic masculinity (lesbians too somehow) in their queer circles...and complaining about the lack

I really want to know how these people made their money. Because you don’t make that kind of money from civil rights cases, or you know, anything super wholesome and ethical.

*thank you*

I still don’t know what mondo gorgina means, but I agree, she is beautiful

Search for therapists that are specifically anti-racist! Some good questions to ask potential therapists:

Gia Gunn—the mondo gorgina drag entertainer

This person has provided an important service :)

Love to see the Southern Baptists (a group that originated from an 1845 split from Baptists in the north in order to support slavery) working for this cause. And, uhh,, fuck Walmart forever.

I dunno if we’re going to call e-girl beauty trends ugly in 10 years but I’m frikin obsessed. I usually stick to eyeliner and an AOC lip, but I want to make the change. Any brand recs for a dark-skinned woman seeking to put funky colors on her face w/o breaking the bank? Just got burned by a Nyx eyeshadow palette from

That...is an absolutely unjustifiable discrepancy. You don’t have a chip on your shoulder, you just have self-respect.

I...think your assumptions are clouding your understanding of my comments. One, I am not attacking the people at the Glynn County Police Department or anyone else. Two, you assumed my belief was that the police should have arrested the killers faster in a “rushed” investigation. Rather, re points one and two, I

This was an ouch. And I think a way that a lot of women and queer folk from minority and immigrant backgrounds feel. Does anyone have any stories of finding their place? It’s something I’m really working on right now.

Oop, first paragraph should say that the video was released in May and the appropriate moves were made the week following the video’s release.

Thanks for your clarification about the timeline and wording. I do know that an “investigation” started in February. It was a farce. The the video was released, cue public outrage, things that should have happened in February/March happened in within that week. By “now,” I meant just recently. Not like. Today. Lmao. I

.

I meant reparations in a general way, like all concerted, governmental efforts to pour significant amounts of money into Black communities, for Black people to use at Black people’s discretion. I’m not an expert, though. Maybe there’s an argument for using the word reparations to refer only to payments to individuals

The fact that Ahmaud Arbery was murdered in February and it’s only being investigated now, after an intense campaign of pressure to do so...show that moves to arrest and convict mean very little for long term change. Call me when they abolish the police and pay the savings into black communities as reparations

Woah. The term himbo emphasizes easygoing silliness. Like a male version of a ditz, maybe? Sex Idiot is such an aggressive and judgmental term I barely want to type it out.

This! I was all in for condescending, in their head engineer types until I mis-typed this one guy and he was so sweet I could die. Now I have a major thing for dudes who smile and laugh easily...
