Can we replace the word “diversity” with “anti-racism” from here on out? Or say something like “publishing is being forced to reckon with all the ways in which it’s upheld white supremacy”? The word diversity just really misses the point.

Interesting. But it’s also worth pointing out that the Trump campaign has already rejected the Tiktok prank as an explanation, saying they weeded out all false reservations by checking the phone numbers. Unfortunately many of us used our real phone numbers and are currently getting their weirdo fundraising messages...

They were already feeding their base a liberal plot (that violent protestors were physically blocking entry) so the true story that a bunch of teenagers did it takes a lot of wind out of their sails.

As a young person who hangs out on alt tiktok, my assumption was that these are American K-pop stans because K-pop has a massive U.S. following, and I saw mostly Americans spreading this prank on my feed...Your comment does make me wonder how many people would think the opposite though :0

I love this! Also wanted to add that slavery (esp American chattel slavery) and colonialism have had harsh and eloquent critics of all races, from all backgrounds for as long as they have existed. *These men each made their choice.*

There’s this company called Mighty Cricket that grinds crickets up and puts them in breakfast foods, kind of as a way to introduce insects to Americans in a palatable way. I’ve heard that their products are indistinguishable from their non cricket counterparts - your comment has me thinking about placing an order now!

And/or for environmental reasons! I’m vegetarian for that reason, and I would 100% eat bugs.

I have the same diagnoses as your son. I haven’t been home for an extended period of time in the last 6 years, and I didn’t realize how tough it would be to live here again, where it doesn’t feel wise to be as honest and open as I would like to be (previous attempts have backfired). I had set up online therapy through

If it’s any help, I know a lot of universities are going to take grades from spring 2020 with a massive grain of salt, if they consider them at all.

For a long time, I was told I wasn’t trying hard enough and believed it. I hated myself every time the depression came around again. I was seeing a therapist, but it took a long time for me to be honest - with her and with myself - because I wanted so badly to believe that a little more vision casting, the achievement

It feels like a victory after years of silence, and Chiu credits the backing of the countless women with similar stories about Weinstein who helped legitimize her story.
