I always wonder when people write things like this if they really think there is even a tiny chance that even one person will read it and try to implement it into their daily life. Like, “I’m totally going to change the way I interact in social settings because of something I read on the internet.”
It’s cool to offer a personal anecdote as a way of relating to and empathizing with someone’s own story, but then you have to step back and intentionally return the conversation to what the other person was talking about, which is where most people fall flat.
