We got the non-Nismo version of that in Canada. Sales were lackluster. Honda moved as many Civics in a couple of months, as Nissan sold Micras for the entire year.
I think this was technically built by (Philco) Ford in the 60s...

In theory, most of the tooling to make it for the US market exists already. The 2nd gen was sold in China as the Reiz. It’s possible that the only design/engineering things that would need to be taken care of would be crash test and headlight compliance. Sadly, I don’t think it really fits in anywhere in the Toyota…
