I know, I meant is it worth playing at all if he’s going to enjoy like 30% of the game.

I haven’t said DS1 is perfect either. That being said, if we can use the term masterpiece when it comes to games - it still fits, flaws and all.

BB, definitely. Leave DS2 for when you have lots of free time and nothing better to spend it on. The DLCs are good, but the main game is weak. Plus, the fast combat and lack of shields is a good break from the usual Souls gameplay.

Should you still subject yourself to the original parts of DS2 just to get to the good DLC?

If you can choose only one game to play after BB, go with DS1. Perfect time to jump in and it’s not as clunky as Demon’s Souls (which is still great tho, but not as great as DS1). DS3 is good, but leave it for last. DS2 is not even worth playing unless you have a bunch of time you need to fill out.

I wouldn’t say it’s a better game. The world is not as intricately crafted, there is no interconnection between the areas. It’s the clunkiest of the series and some of the bosses were way too easy or had obvious cheese tactics. Dark Souls has those as well, but in a lesser capacity, definitely.

1. Dark Souls
2. Bloodborne
3. Demon’s Souls
4. Dark Souls 3
DS2 - not played

You know, I wouldn’t mind that if it’s done well. It would be very different and welcome among all the superhero movies with the same tone.

I remember being hugely disappointed in the game, but when comparing it to XIII and its sequels, it’s a damn masterpiece.

Really? You figured that out just now? The fact that we’ve barely seen anything else besides the procedurally-generated worlds should say enough. The game will have environments which look sort of different, but then again will look mostly the same once you see 100 planets. There will barely be any interesting content

Not sure what they lost with the PSP... Just because it was not as popular doesn’t mean it didn’t sell like what... 80 million units? And the game library is amazing. I wish the Vita got more love, but yeah, those memory cards killed it.

At first I was like

They were pretty great, actually. They play like a Resident Evil clone with the same tank controls, but IMO they are superior games compared to the RE games on the PS1. I was royally pissed that Eidos cancelled the 3rd game in the series when it was almost done. The first 2 were legitimately good, but mostly ignored

More like, you needed that marketing campaign to even hear of them. I don’t remember how exactly I found out about the games back in the day, but I was surprised and they ended up in the top 10 of PS1 games I’ve played.

You could have asked for a refund. I don’t follow Steam that much lately, but I remember an article saying their are giving refunds without much fuss if you request it within a certain number of days.

This can only be good for them. They probably will get some cash out of this, and it’s a guaranteed win.

Thanks for the tip.

Fans will probably mod them in at some point. I’m sure a lot of the high-res content will still be missing, but I’ll take whatever I can.

The randomness aspect and frustrating crafting ensured I won’t even try this game until it’s patched to alleviate some of those issues.

I loved killing that guy with my Necro. Spam a bunch of bone walls, then spam bone spear. He was surrounded by the walls, couldn’t move and was chipping away at them while I destroyed him with bone spears/spirits.
