I’m thrilled to see “Mustang” and “Electric” together. As my username indicates, this has been a dream of mine for a long time.

You could probably have them painted.
It looks really good for a crossover. Honestly, it looks really good, full stop. They’ve actually done a decent job adapting the S550 styling elements to the crossover format. The side profile teaser reminds me of a really cool Mustang shooting brake render I saw a while back.
True, but that huge engine is going to put a lot of weight over the front axle. This has been an issue with previous Shelbys as well. Big engines bring big power but they also fuck up the weight balance.
It’s not awful, but I do think the GT500 nose is a bit overdone. I like the Bullitt - it’s understated and subtle and much nicer to look at. The GT500 is trying way too hard.
Handsome? Really? Have you been to an eye doctor lately, Raph?
IMO, in this case, the Chevy actually looks better. The new Fit is seriously fugly.
It looks like a Golf. Maybe I’m not German enough, but all Golfs look pretty much the same to me.
I can see them being better than a 2-door, but it seems a normal 4-door would be even more convenient.
It’s about damn time Mazda came out with an EV. It looks all right, and the doors are cool. I’ll be following this one with interest. Battery seems kinda small, but maybe it will be more on the budget end of the spectrum.
Modern sheet metal might be thinner, but it’s much stronger. The formulation of metal has changed drastically since the ‘50s.
this meme is best meme
I’m not much of a gamer, but I’ve played a bit of NFS Most Wanted 2012, and the Tesla Roadster in that game is infuriating to drive. It’s even more frustrating knowing that real electric cars don’t have this problem at all.
Sometimes sarcasm doesn’t quite come across on the internet.
Offset by not having to carry around a big engine block. Some EV conversions are actually lighter than the original car. It mostly depends on what type of batteries you use, and how many.
I wouldn’t mind so much if they targeted all restomods, but singling out EV conversions while apparently being OK with modern gas engine swaps is just pure hipocrisy.
If you’re swapping out the engine, might as well swap out the whole electrical system. World’s first reliable Jag! (except maybe the I-Pace)
Battery packs can be stuffed into all sorts of places. Most conversions split the pack into two halves - one in the engine bay, one under the trunk floor or behind the back seat.
That would be awesome!
