I find it hilariously stupid when people take pickup trucks and make them arguably less effective at doing their designed tasks. What you’re left with is an expensive vehicle that does nothing particularly well.

How much bigger are the exterior dimensions from the current V60 (with and w/o mirrors)? Can’t find a clear answer. Urban commuter here with an S60 (second gen). Thanks.

As for the storing of valuables in a trunk, that’s what the valet setting is for. Seats and center armrest in my sedan can only be folded down with a button in the trunk. So even if someone smashes a window and presses the trunk release button, the trunk will stay locked. Pretty nifty, Volvo. From an opportunistic

Seat bolstering looks insufficient for a car that claims handling benefits. There. I said it.

Nothing on the AWD rumors?!

Find yourself a mint condition Toyota Previa... or better yet, find one in “okay” shape and restore it.

If you’re able to wait a couple years...

I’ve driven them - the short wheelbase makes for a horrible ride. Hasn’t stopped me from thinking about it. I’ve also contemplated the Chevy Spark (the previous one... current model is devoid of the “silly headlights” factor).

Somehow Toyota thought the Solara would be a better bet than continuing the Camry Wagon... I’d buy a 2018 Camry Wagon... Avensis Wagon below.

I actually know someone who went from owning a Supra to owning a Solara, by choice. As a result I’m no longer shocked by anything...

For $20K you can find a completely restored Austin Mini. Or you can find a nice resto-mod, like this VTEC Mini on BaT for $19,999.

Lots of good suggestions already listed... adding a base Acura Integra to the mix... for a FWD car, it handled well and got 35+ HWY MPG.

Volvo S60... surprisingly - knock on wood - it’s been more reliable. I was skeptical about buying my first turbo, but I’ve been very pleased with the power delivery. MPG is still unimpressive. Kind of like the G35 sedan, I like the balance between sport and comfort. Most of my time is spent in traffic - the Volvo S60

Honestly. No one could have predicted this would happen. It’s someone else’s fault.

How much life does the CVT suck out of the driving experience?

When I was making $1,500 repairs to my first gen G35 every 3-6 months. Everything seemed to start going wrong so quickly... and I was just like... to hell with this.

“Nature will find a way...” - Darwin, probably.

stick on hood scoop and fender vents...

I hear you... but money has a way of helping people jump up a list... and our buyer seems to have some. Also - from what I can tell - preorders are non-committal, so until someone puts down some cold hard cash, the list is unconfirmed IMO.
