My two main pieces of advice to newer players would be to level Vigor early (really makes enemies feel a lot less cheap) and to focus on weapon upgrades when possible (they generally give you more damage than leveling up your stats). Glad you’re enjoying the game though~!

i think its dishonest to assume everyone is doing what you think they are doing. i maybe did these things the first time through dark souls, but i haven’t this time and i really don’t think i’m some magical unicorn freak.

Everything you’ve listed here is completely optional to the player.  Get stuck on a boss? Summon help.  Melee too tough? Used ranged bows or spells.  Care about the Lore? Read item descriptions or look it up online.  I don’t see how any of this is bad.

I started with a Bandit and was getting wrecked so hard that I noped out of that class. Restarted with a Vagabond and the extra health and being able to use the weps you find in the early area is helping greatly. I still suck at blocking sometimes but I find a lot of times just jumping over attacks helps with avoiding…

More akin to Witchers 1&2. The third game had notable now forgotten problems at launch (the texture pop-in was hilariously poor) but it sort of provided a rose-tinted view of CDPR’s history as they’re 3 for 4 in terms of fucking up launches.
