@steino: Yea, it’s for that reason I’m skeptical of touch-based computing in general. It’s good for some specific tasks, which is what the iPad is good at, but I don’t think the additional duties that a PC does beyond an iPad benefit at all from multitouch. In those cases where it might help a pen tablet or a trackpad

@steino: Those are normal computers with touch-based apps on them. The OS itself isn’t built around a touch-based interface though. It will always be something of a jury-rig. Like putting a flight-stick in a car, it gets the job done, but it doesn’t feel quite right.

@steino: No. There are computers that support touch-screen interfaces. But there are no UIs for full-fledged PCs that revolve around a touch-interface.

@Daetaga: OS X will always have the terminal.

@dallasmay: SJ doesn't want to take over the personal computer industry. He’s not a megalomaniac, he just wants to make money by making computers.

@EyeHeartPie: It is actual sturdiness as the thing isn't liable to slip or snap in my hand. The only drawback is the risk of the back cracking, but even that doesn't impede the phone's functionality at all. It'll still work fine and if you Pick up a decal sticker it will look as good as new, maybe even better.

@freedomweasel: Actually I find the iPhone 4 actually feels much more solid in my hand than the 3G did despite it being lighter. I think this is in part due to the glass back. The tactile feel of the glass makes the weight distribution on the phone feel more balanced, which helps make it feel more sturdy.

@Unchill English Bro: The rate of people using cases on the iPhone 4 is also much lower than the 3G models. This might have changed since the free bumper program, but I doubt it changed much. It's a very sexy design and people don't want to cover it up.

@gmuslera: We invented labeling technology long long ago. There is no reason you can't paste one on your analog switches.

@Musouka [Region 4]: IIRC from Brood War, Raszagal was the matriarch of the Dark Templar. The Aiur Protoss were ruled by a conclave of elders. After they fled to the Dark Templar world the conclave was in shambles and they created the heirarchy with Artanis at the helm to lead the new, unified Protoss.

@Foxith: Artanis is the "Heirarch." That makes him leader.

@RT100: A PR problem is not the same as a design problem.

@killiang: That Giz article was actually flat out wrong. It's tempered glass that has the issue with internal tension, not aluminosilicate. In fact, the entire reason I got my star was for pointing that out. . .

@John44: Glass breaks against ceramic tile. Guess what the floor is smart one?

@RT100: You mean the antenna problem that's not a problem at all and the glass materials that only get ruined if you're among a subset (iPhone users who uses a cases) of a subset (you use a slider case) of a subset (you use a rigid, non-silicone slider case) of a subset (you habitually put on and take off your slider

@N1ro: Right. As I said earlier, Apple's mistake was in approving the bad cases. But that still doesn't make it an iPhone 4 design flaw. It's a slider case design flaw that Apple didn't catch in their approval process.

@John44: Noone else has been decent enough to make a phone that doesn't look and handle like a clunky piece of crap.

@N1ro: "Every after market tire?" Are you aware that there are other cases besides the In-Case Slider out there?

So does the enemy AI do anything aside from standing still waiting for you to punch them?
