@badasscat: Technically speaking, it’s not a chemical reaction so much as dissolved compounds coming out of solution.

@iheartsoda: Everyone has a bias and an agenda. That doesn't mean you get to simply ignore what they have to say.

@iheartsoda: "Did you just accuse pundits of having intellectual discourse?!?! Let me know if that ever happens. "

@AmphetamineCrown: Haha. I was always more of a cocktail nerd myself. I didn't even start drinking wine until after I had acquired a taste for straight vermouth and I've also found that a lot of dedicated wine people, for some reason, just can't wrap their heads around fortified wines.

@Taras Voronin: Oh so this is more of a "I don't actually know what I'm talking about so I'm going to write off anyone different than me as an effete snob thing" then is it?

@noamjamski: True. But I've found that if you get a recommendation you can usually send it back if it's not to your taste. Within reason, of course. Do it more than once and you're just being an ass.

@AmphetamineCrown: Are they actually holier-than-thou or are you just trafficking in stereotypes?

@Geisrud: If they're decent waiters they'll describe the flavor rather than handwaving questions away with glib replies.

@AndrewRyan: No. Mordin actually explains that Salarians don't have a hormonal sex-drive (although you do find several instances of Salarians involved with Asari.)

@Ikeepgettingbanned: The sommelier selects the wine-list to begin with. He's there no matter what. There is no middle-man and he can add a personal touch and make recommendations based on what food the restaurant serves in addition to the quality of the wine.

@DWD: Have you ever ordered wine at a decent restaurant?

I thought it was part of the sommellier's job to tell the waitstaff about the wines so that they can inform you what you might like.

@skahammer: I do enjoy blogs like "Art of Manliness." While they are about being a better man, the tone is more one of self-improvement rather than whiney bellyaching.

"that women, as a group, are more thoughtful, efficient, tougher and less likely to make mistakes."

@punisher1135: Binary systems generally have stars orbiting each other. This seems to have one big star being orbited by planets AS WELL as a bunch of smaller stars which are themselves have planets orbiting them in elliptical orbits.

@Rabid82: WTF? There are solar systems orbiting other solar systems in stable orbits?

@AndrewRyan: At least we'll always have the fantastic Mass Effect short-film machinema:

@Stealthfire: And if you DO have to tell them these things, you actually can with the D-Pad, so it's handy that way.
