Yup to me it was all about these broken people allowing themselves to be happy. Whether or not you believe what Nora said, or whether or not you believe that Kevin actually died or saw a dead Patty, these realities were needed for their characters to be happy. That's all that matters.

In a broken world, anyone can find happiness if they let themselves have it.
