That happened to me with coffee. I couldn’t get rid of the smell in my top cap. I contacted the company that made the travel mug & they were no help at all. So I tried baking soda with warm water, 2+ hours & smell was gone!

I tried it, but it needs some work. First time wrong channel after many attempts and worked on 1 other channel.
