I enjoyed it, much better than the LOTR show. But I wouldn’t say I’m excited for it, it’s just so dour. Good show, but maybe if it had a few positive beats here and there would help.

I think they already greenlit season 3 if I’m not mistaken. GRRM said it’ll probably run four seasons.
Have you ever heard of this show? have you heard of Game of Thrones? probably the dumbest comment I’ve ever seen online lol
It’s never really bothered me, no. Ghouls are basically walking beef jerky, their bodies shrivel to a certain point and then stop. Does it make sense in terms of how radiation works IRL? No, but I find it an easy suspension of disbelief in a 1950s pulp sci-fi sort of way, and is roughly equivalent to how the vampire…
With no ill-intent towards James Whitbrook (it’s a lovely, well-written review), this is an episode where I would have absolutely LOVED to still have Charlie Jane Anders around to review it. I really hope that she posts her thoughts about it on her socials, and I hope she’s celebrating it as much as so many of us…
Watching “The Star Beast,” I was reminded of something I wrote in a comment on this site, many years ago:
I really wish we could get some sign of where Larry ended up. As is, we just have to assume he went to jail for lying to Congress.
As per the bonus news reports, Jimmy’s going to be in prison until 2010 for his part in the bombing, even after cooperating against the others.
It was absolutely right to get rid of Jodi Balfour’s Ellen character on For All Mankind. It probably took too long. The president’s storyline was one of the ones that dragged down S3.
I guess Lucasfilm figured they needed a Feige figure, a superfan turned pro, and Filoni was it, because it sure as hell wasn’t Kennedy, Abrams, or the Kasdans. (Not to diss Kennedy, who’s one of the most accomplished producers in her generation, and arguably Hollywood history, but the shared cinematic universe thing…
Now I officially request Filoni greenlight Willow Books II & III.
I’m down with it. He doesn’t drop gold 100% of the time, but I gotta say his average is pretty damn impressive. He has respect, and he has vision. I’m down with this. Congratulations, Dave. I stan ya.
Maybe if people even knew season 2 was out, it would have performed better. Marketing must have dropped the ball because this is the first I’ve heard it was a thing. I just thought it was in limbo. Even so, they waited too long between seasons. The show lost its momentum, and shows like that are easy to forget.
It’s become such a stupid self-perpetuating cycle at this point.
Fewer people watch season 2 of Netflix shows because they know Netflix cancels tons of shows after season 2.
Netflix then cancels shows after season 2 because of declining viewership
Did All of the Tarnax IV Skrulls go to New Asgard? After the events of Secret Invasion is Earth at large suddenly just totally fine with a bunch of Skrulls showing up in Norway?
I’m guessing it’s the other way around. The Marvels is set shortly after Ms. Marvel (which I believe places the initial body swap just a week…
Although I appreciate the review, I’ve always found FAMs final episodes to be it’s strongest, so I’m still all in.
Soapy or not, I’ll still watch. I think people had the idea that this would be more “documentary with realized characters” rather than “character-driven prestige drama with alt-space race as the setting.” It’s much more the latter now, and honestly it could still be stunningly good if they didn’t...you know, like…
If I’m one of the three people on earth who actually loved the soapy Danny–Karen nonsense of seasons 2–3, will I like this?
Streaming on two services at once? All episodes at once? Doesn’t seem like Disney has much faith in this, looks okay for their first mature outing, not counting Werewolf by Night which was mature-ish. The return of Kingpin is more then enough for me to check it out even if Echo herself didn’t come off as anything…
Looks more promising that I was expecting. (But yes, it’s just a trailer). Glad they’re letting it be darker/more violent than the usual Disney+ fare. Hopefully they do the same with the re-worked Daredevil.
