So they got a writer from Netflix’s Punisher series to be the showrunner? Good. The Punisher show had one really great season...and then it went for another season. But still, if they can recapture the feeling of that first season, it should be good.

I remember a few decent action set pieces from the Netflix show but to call the show “action focused” seems like a bit of a stretch.

I would like to posit that you are right with the exception of perhaps Minnie Driver. She was clearly having a blast and had some great lines.

I do agree that most Ghibli movies have had great English dubs including some very big celeb names, but I’m sick to death of hiring famous people to do voice work over actual voice actors. There are always exceptions, of course (hello Mister Mark Hamill), but for the most part, the difference in quality is VERY…

Funnily enough, this was the first real English  dub of a Miyazaki film released theatrically in the US.

A notable exception, IMO anyway, is Princess Mononoke. Lots of big name actors, but they all give the flattest line readings. Princess Mononoke is my poster child for Subs Not Dubs.

Yeah  even the “bad” episodes of season 1 do a lot to build the characters who are the core of the next 80ish episodes or whatever. 

My overwhelming feeling about this utter non-story is: “meh”.

This is such a non-issue and I’m actually Scottish. It’s an anime cat. This is no more offensive than Evangelion using symbols of Christianity for no reason other than they looked cool.

I’m assuming Baylan is looking to find The One Ring, seeing as how he somehow managed to find the Argonath. He’s hot on the trail of the Fellowship. That Ring’s as good as his.

Fun show overall. It’s a live action cartoon, if you make peace with that it’s easier to enjoy.

I don’t think Senator Xiono is a Loyalist or Remnant spy as he is still in the Senate by the time the sequels roll around… although he did suspiciously manage to have his entire family off planet when Starkiller Base destroyed Hosnian Prime… OMG WAS HE A SPY?! Is that why he hated that his son was a Resistance Spy??…

The Hera scene was so dull that I ended up skipping it early. It does not matter in the slightest.

Oh fucking hell, really? And she calls him Threepio?

It was, underwhelming after the last episode. I thought the effects and cgi were fantastic. Better than some of the recent movies, but the actual episode, not so much. And why the hell are we trying to act like Ashoka couldn’t beat Baylan? That’s silly.

That was an episode of the Rebels cartoon in live action, for better and worse. 

How does one pissy little senator have this much say? That dude was like the worst kind of dipshit in every philosophy class I had in college.
