My take on The Good Place is this - as long as Michael Schur’s in charge it will be great (and he’s not going to leave obviously). Parks and Rec’s run was so well-planned that nearly each season-ending episode could have worked as a season finale, if no renewal happened. Look at The Good Place - he did the same thing…

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, another show about trying to be a better person (though “better” is the wrong word since it’s partly about dealing with mental health and misdiagnoses (among many many many other themes). Really funny and moving. I think 2-3 seasons are on Netflix right now before the final 4th one starts in Oct.

He’s as likeable as anyone else on this show, he hasn’t done anything heinous to anyone—in fact, it was Issa that blew up their relationship in an undeserved, disrespectful and humiliating way. I think that she doesn’t fit is the point. She would have made the main characters happier and more successful in their schemes but that’s not what the show is about.
