Daaaaamn. I think this season could, by the end, be the best season yet. S2 had some amazing episodes and this season hasn’t had a truly all-time great one yet (though “Odysseus” came close for me), but each season usually takes a while to kick in, and this one is really great and consistent from the beginning. Plus

“Abbi, I just saw Lincoln and then I met his girlfriend and I shit myself from a sphincter-quivering, pelvic-floor-loosening, socially lethal combination of cheese, champagne and cocaine!”

I’m still traumatized by the feet WITH the nails. Arghhh

I’ve been so impressed with Eichner this season. He’s never really given a chance to show his chops but he’s been the one thing keeping me tuned in this season.

Eichner is a funny guy, of course, and the scene after killing his boss was some quality darkly funny hysterical acting. But he also really sold the weariness of this guy for me. He’s broke, he’s treated like crap, he’s trapped in a marriage he really didn’t think through, and he’s sexually frustrated. I can believe

“That’s Parker. I call him Mini-Me because he wants to be me so bad.”

Man, I wish the behind the scenes hadn’t stated so definitively that this was Trey’s goodbye episode. Trey annoyed me on my first pass through the show, but in a recent rewatch I found him to be kind of endearing. And he’s perfect for Abbi - they’re the same type of nerdy and awkward, but he’s learned to use it to his

Did anyone else almost tear up when Jimmy opened his book and saw the dedication to Gretchen? “To Gretchen, thanks for being alone with me.” Just me? Okay.

The follow up to the Yogurt line made me laugh

So glad to have TGP back on my screen! Ted Danson (and his bowties) continue to be a delight. Tahani’s uncomfortableness with everything was wonderful I was laughing at the way Jameela Jamil delivered every line, she is so good. Once again TGP reminding me how much I am Chidi.

While everyone’s tortures were interesting - except Eleanor’s, who’s uckily saddled with a meathead who goes to the gym at the drop of a shirt - Tahani’s made me cackle with glee. Short soul mate? Small house? Discovering why Crocs have holes? Absolute perfection. I could see a whole episode of her trying to deal with

Dude, I almost left after THAT scene. Just. No.

Well, since everyone went to see American Assassin, I’m guessing they were hoping a scene in which Jesus (holding a machine gun) kicks down a door, then announces “I died for you. Now it’s your turn, bitches”. That’s how allegories work, yes?

I’m new to kinja but did we just side step the fact that this comment was left by the actual Spider-Man?

I saw the ‘twist’ coming (especially from the foreshadowing of the guy yelling “Donald Trump will be president!” in the real universe, and from the foreshadowing with Bevers), but that didn’t make it any less great when Alternate-Abbi and Alternate-Ilana got hit by the bus.

“Oh wait, no. I’m mad at you.” Good ole Lindsay.

After some extremely emotional and heavy closing minutes, the episode finishes off with a literal interpretation of the “This is fine” meme.

I see Jimmy is meme connoisseur.

I love the glimpses of Sam and Shitstains life we get.
