...that became this.

Well, there’s this...

Mitsubishi Eclipse. Can there be any doubt?

I’m not that sure COVID was a poor example. My point was that, if given any opportunity to raise prices without perceived penalty to them, the automakers--really, any big industry--will jump at the chance.  They did at COVID, and they will if Trump has the opportunity (and takes it) to enact his proposed tariffs.

Past experience. In the 1980s, Japan agreed to voluntarily restrict the number of cars they imported (this was before most of the Japanese-manufacturer factories in America were conceived). To counter this, their dealers jacked up their prices; it was all-but impossible to get any of their cars for anything less than

Why didn’t the airbags deploy?

I suppose this is accurate, given the American political climate.  You would have to be an idiot to run for President.

Dodge Challenger and (to a lesser extent) Charger, with the smaller 8-cylinder engines (in other words, not the Hellcats, Demons, or other expensive limited-production versions). Any of the “street takeover” videos should be sufficient evidence. The Mustang GT rates a dishonorable mention.

My parents had the sedan. The interior materials were crap and the car rusted at the rear wheel arches—but it would not give up and die. For a transportation device, NP.  *And someone else agreed, with their wallet--the ad is already taken down.)

The expensive retro-mobles: The Plymouth/Chrysler Prowler, the Chevrolet SSR and, as previously noted, the eleventh-gen Thunderbird. All evoque a nostalgia for what was.

The rapper’s name is actually 2raree. Two e’s. Get your rappers’ names straight already.

As a unit, I would definitely say ND. But the tires and wheels, the light bar, the suspension upgrades, the engine and transmission and everything else done to the truck should be worth more than $3500 when parted out.  A reluctant NP from me.

2010 Mazda3. It’s happy but goofy.

And his wife.

I try not to wish death upon anyone. At the same time, I agree that the Republican Party (and perhaps the country) would be much better off without (thank God former) President Trump around. But what I would really wish would be a defeat for him so decisive that he cannot conceivably blame it on a rigged election. It

It looks to me, as has been discussed, that the car has only one (passenger side rear) mismatched wheel. But replacing that may be less important (and costly) than replacing the battery, if this car is anything like this 2012 Chevrolet Volt: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/factcheck/2022/08/30/fact-check-dealer-gav

Hummer H3. It looks like it’s trying to showcase military capabilities that anyone who’s paying attention knows it does not have. Sort of like a Yorkshire terrier trying to emulate a police German shepherd—except, unlike the H3, the Yorkie could be considered (by some) to be cute.

I would certainly take this for $10,000 over yesterday’s Daihatsu/Toyota for $10,500!

I’m surprised nobody mentioned the Cadillac Catera ad that played during the Super Bowl. This car was supposed to be marketed to young, professional women. Cindy Crawford in a dominatrix outfit was supposed to impress them?

How could we forget Mia and Tia, the Miata twins?
