Nissan Altimas spend a lot of time on trucks, either because the transmission failed or they got repossessed. It doesn’t surprise me that it saw a wrecker and decided to get onboard before it was taken by another Altima.

Once I saw it was a sedan, my brain autofilled Nissan Altima. Nothing is more Altima than hitting a large truck stopped on the shoulder in broad daylight while cruising in the passing lane.

I’m surprised the seller isn’t asking more for it. Maybe the car has issues in person that don’t come through in the ad, but based on the info we have it’s a steal. Drop the top and shove your “Thriller” cassette tape in the dash and relive the 80’s whenever you want.

There was even some kind of a wave they could have surfed on. The lesson learned is to fill your car with liquid and let the water hammer effect carry you to safety. 

The dealers should have taken her seriously when she said “Nice inventory mate, be a shame if something was to happen to it.”

If that oil change sticker from 1987 is accurate, then this car really could have only 39,000 miles on it. The condition of the paint and interior is so good that it would not surprise me at all.

Unfortunately, I don’t think there will be any kind of relief or compensation provided in those areas. Maybe the resale value will recover as we get further away from this debacle and the fixes offered by Kia/Hyundai hopefully bring theft rates back towards what you would normally expect for these sorts of vehicles.…
