You have it backwards. They need to make it narrower in order to sort the field before entering Turn 2. Going 3-wide into Turn 2 is ALWAYS going to lead to disaster. 90 foot wide straightaways into a single 220 MPH racing line corner does not work when the field is stacked together on restarts.

It’s the track width, lack of racing lines and how Pocono invites ‘fanning-out’ on straightaways during restarts.

One thing everyone overlooks is the absolute width of Pocono.
