Welcome to the rest of the world.

It was 100% a fuck-up of some sort, and I have to think it was some combination of Jared and Rudy. There is just no rational story that leads to them freely choosing to do the presser at a location like that.

I did end up crying during both of their speeches.

To be honest, I feel like I can breathe again. My 16 year old granddaughter (who is a WOC) said she felt like a giant weight was finally off her shoulders. She is absolutely THRILLED that Kamala will be our Vice President.

Hillary Clinton conceded extremely graciously in 2016, and quite early, earlier than a lot of people thought she should have at the time.  I can’t imagine how difficult that was, when most of the polls were telling her she would likely win. But she did it. And four years later I am not at all surprised that the giant

I’m happy but it’s been muted. It’s hard to tell if it’s exhaustion or if because the slow moving nature of this count sucked some of the joy out of the win. I’m sure the loss of our senate hopes also factored in (yea I know we still have the runoffs but getting both seems like a long shot)

Just a giant reminder to everyone, Trump is not required to concede. It’s considered a tradition and the right thing to do, but his refusing to do so will not change the result (it’ll mostly make him look like a giant sore loser). We will do the recounts (which historically tend to make the outcome even more

I am so happy it ended like this....LOLOLOLOLOLOL

But according to the fine print on those pages, as much as 50% of donations will go towards covering debt accrued during Trump’s reelection campaign as well as to the RNC.

I thought I was the only one! I hate being unkind, but he takes up so much space.

Yes.

That we can. Laurels all around.

Black women did the damn thing, and instead of celebrating all of the work that they—we—put in, people want to make it a contest. Ridiculous. Give everyone their flowers.

I’m all for Kamala 2028. Lets not fuck up like we did in 1979 by challenging the incumbent that’s on our side.

We can celebrate the success of both women without having to seemingly pit them against each other.

To Mortal Dick-tata, the great dismisser:

From the day she announced her candidacy I knew she wouldn’t be denied a spot on the ticket.

Where’s that guy from earlier this week who was asking us how Trump had affected our lives in a negative way? I thought for sure he’d be the first one here offering congratulations, he seemed so sincere in his desire to have that question answered.

Thank you, each one of you; individually and collectively we have taken the first step. Regardless that half of America once again showed its true, bigoted and medieval mindset, we prevail and rise.

Wasn’t none of us excited about voting for Hilary Clinton. Are they fucking crazy? We only voted for her in 2016 cuz it was obvious that Donald Trump was gone run this country into the ground. Then he ran this country into the ground, and y’all voted for him AGAIN. Sheer lunacy.
