Not be a lazy Karen, and call around yourself to find your own hotel with a room available?
I can promise there were hotel rooms, just not ones in the United network that they have discount rates for. He could have booked one himself and demanded United pay it back, or use his credit card’s flight delay insurance to cover it (if he had a good travel card).
Sounds awful, but there is no way it was literally true that there were no hotel rooms anywhere. There may have been no hotel rooms in United’s system of hotels they usually use for such circumstances. When that happens, you book your own and then demand reimbursement from the airline.
Exactly what every school bus driver is required to do, regardless of signals and signage.
Watch a couple hundred train passengers cheat death when their train manages to stay on the track after hitting a van.
Tis but a scratch.
COTD was better before all the answers got put into a slideshow.
Someone, anyone, establish a relationship with Suzuki and import Jiminy to USA and Canada.
That’s why the report is almost useless. I expected to click on the link and find some even rudimentary numbers behind this and of course there were none. They criticized Toyota with like zero numbers to back it up, when it’s probable that Toyota’s past 20, 30, 40 years of better than average fuel economy more than…
They didn’t fix a lot of the complaints though. The only fix is the steering wheel touch capacitive buttons... which entailed them taking the steering wheel from a base model instead.
I still argue they peaked at MK7.5. Best small car platform ever made, imo. The entire MK8 generation is just gimmicked and weird. It’s “better”, for sure, but...........I just think they went a bit overboard with everything visual, both inside and out.
Depends on how you look at sustainability. Getting the most time/miles out of a vehicle’s embedded energy costs are often overlooked, and as we all know Toyotas tend to run a loooong time. It’s more sustainable to drive a Tacoma 300K miles than an electric Hummer (I know, extreme example) for whatever it’s lifespan…
I bet if you calculated the overall emissions saved from Toyota’s hybrids across their lineup to any other manufacturer’s EV lineup, the results would be pretty interesting.
Exactly. I fail to see how it’s a bad thing that Toyota has made almost their entire lineup more efficient.
We’re talking about one of the biggest companies on the face of the Earth. There’s no way they were ever going to be truly eco-conscious - that’s completely counter to the entire ethos of Capitalism.
Stealing entire train cars worth of goods is not petty crime.
Time to bring back guards with shotguns on trains.
