For me it was that several episodes earlier this season - particularly "Ron and Tammys" and "Born and Raised" - went really broad and cartoony. Both had their moments, and I could sort of forgive "Ron and Tammys," since Tammy episodes are like this show's Treehouse of Horrors. But Born & Raised especially felt very

I think it's something of a running gag at this point that Jerry's wife never shows up. Why would Jerry constantly go to late night parties and events with his co-workers without his wife? (The sentence also works without the "without his wife" qualifier.)

Or the opposite - if they think they're getting a 7th season, maybe the figure they need to change things up a bit?

I really don't understand how The Office still has viewers. I've tried to watch a few times this season and it's just so painfully boring.

People never bring it up, but their last Valentine's Day episode (from S2) was one of their best, IMO. Not quite as laugh-out-loud funny as some other episodes, but just a fantastic episode from a character perspective.

Kind of OT, but I remember back when this was on - and when the show was such a huge sensation - Rich in an interview tried to downplay his frequent nudity by claiming the cameras just edited it to make it look like he was out of the ordinary. He claimed that footage of Colleen, Greg, and Gervase sitting nude around

Holy crap, I remember that video - and I never made the connection that that was Ellie Kemper.

Which episode was that?

… Until NBC decides to give him a "Ron and Tammys" spinoff.

Oh, though I'm already on record up-thread saying I really liked this one, I'm glad someone else wondered why Millie would come to break up with Chris at Andy and April's house?

I liked this much better than last week's. One bit that you didn't mention - April's voices on the phone.

Yeah, Joey apparently ran for two FULL seasons.

Huh, yeah - I wonder if this will mean Parks wraps up early (end of March) and Community takes its place. I had speculated about that back when the hiatus was announced but it seemed less likely as the spring schedule shook out.

This is a terrible, terrible idea.

There was a NYT piece on Parks last fall that went into some detail about the show's development. Apparently, before Poehler signed on and while NBC was pushing really strongly for a spinoff the leading option was to build a show around Andy Bernard and his wacky family called "American Family."

It's still their highest rated scripted show - by far. So they're going to milk it as long as they can. It's definitely getting a 9th season - beyond that, it's a question of how low its ratings get and whether they get any new hits.

Nobody went bankrupt betting on failure from NBC. However, even good sitcoms sound lame if you try to sum them up in a single sentence. And anyway, most of these will never make it onto the air - they'll shoot pilots, 2-4 will get picked up, and even in a good year half will be cancelled.

There is - TVLine's list indicates them as "single-camera" or "multicamera." Generally, single-camera shows have no laugh track and multicamera ones do. Most of these are single-camera except for the Jimmy Fallon-produced one and a couple others aren't specified.

Univision's a broadcast network in a lot of places.

30 Rock did better at 10 than it's doing at 8.
