It was a most excellent episode.
It was a most excellent episode.
He's like the sweet, well-meaning Homer Simpson of seasons 2-7. (Not the cruel, asshole Homer of latter-day Simpsons.)
Don't forget "I tried to make ramen in the coffee pot and I broke everything."
Cube butt! Cube butt! Cube butt!
I love Parks, but I'd put 30 Rock's first two seasons - esp. S2 - right up there with it.
I think it was "tropical fish" but yeah. That had to have been ad-libbed.
There is a fast food Italian place in Indiana! (And some other states.) Fazolis! Though I don't think they serve calzones. (And calling it "Italian" is probably a little generous.)
Totally OT, but I noticed watching Colbert that NBC is actually running ads late night on Comedy Central promoting their Thursday night comedies.
"OK, I have to ask: how many legs did he have when you found him?"
This was easily the funniest episode so far this season.
Donna drives a Mercedes, not a VW.
"Well you do attend a shocking number of WNBA games."
Have you seen this preview clip of tonight's episode? Might be one of the funniest Adam Scott scenes the show has done.
I've only seen a few episodes of the show, but IMO, The Middle is much better than Modern Family. MF has some clever gags, but it's remarkably formulaic. Practically every episode is exactly the same. (Cam is oversensitive. Phil tries to be a cool dad. Gloria is misunderstood. Claire is flustered. Everybody fights.…
Wow, they do a really good job of making a very attractive young actress look frumpy and dorky. Perfect for the character.
What's the deal with BFF? Has anybody seen a pilot? The talent behind it seems decent, but NBC's treatment of the show screams summer burn-off.
I was actually hoping that at midseason, NBC would make their Thursday night lineup Grimm / The Office / Parks / 30 Rock / Community. I'm not a fan of Grimm, but it seems like it'd be better counter-programming at the 8pm block, and both 30 Rock and Community seem like great late-night comedies.
The Firm isn't going anywhere - it's a Sony production that has a full 22-episode order and international commitments. They're just paying NBC to broadcast it, so the network is paying very little. (Though I suppose if it does even worse than Prime Suspect, they could move it to Fridays or something.)
Don't forget that Poehler was in Undeclared (where she was cute as hell) and did a number of other pilots for Apatow prior to joining SNL.
Right, if Apt. 23 is successful, and if Cougar Town gets another season, they should be paired up with Happy Endings and a new, similar comedy on Tuesdays. Since they're going to keep Last Man Standing, they should move that to Wednesdays, 8pm, and move The Middle to the 9:30 post-MF slot.
