I'm pretty sure Community will be back by February in the 8:30 Wednesday slot, as soon as Chelsea bombs.

They actually turned down Modern Family when it was being shopped around, saying they already had two mockumentaries (The Office and Parks) and didn't want a third.

If Cougar Town makes it to a fourth season, I hope ABC pairs it with Happy Endings - I think they'd complement each other quite well.

She gives away Pete's baby.

Right, agreed.

Yes.

She is a little more broad this season (something that seems true of nearly all the characters, actually). Nothing beyond the realm of how she was in S2 and S3, but manic, hyperactive Leslie was a more occasional thing.

Hm, so at least according to the Wiki article on the Hatch Act, at least for "federal and DC employees," they may be candidates for nonpartisan office; and they're generally permitted to engage in political activity so long as they don't use official resources or while they're on duty. (Nothing specifically about

I'd be fine with it if they at least acknowledge it. Like have Chris tell everyone they can't do it during work hours or something. Or something. But don't pretend it doesn't matter when they just made a big deal out of the fact that she couldn't have an intra-office romance.

The survey just looked at proportions - so this isn't overall viewership. It's just a list of which shows had the highest proportion of survey viewers self-report as "liberal Democrat" or "conservative Republican." Which explains how something as low-rated as Treme shows up, and why most big hits don't show up, since

The Middle's not bad either. And Mythbusters is fun.

TBH, I think it'd be hard to jump into Parks now. Even in S3, a lot of the humor is very character-based and self-referential. So much of what was funny in this episode is funny because we're longtime fans. If I try to turn people onto the show I always insist they start with an episode from S2. (Maybe I'm wrong - if

There's cynicism in the world around Parks. But not so much in the main characters.

Cam cares too much, Phil tries to be a cool dad, Gloria gets misunderstood. Family get-together, everyone fights, then they remember that they really love each other after all. Cue sappy monologue and cloying background music.

I really get bored of Modern Family. Cute show, and it has its moments. But every episode is fucking exactly the same. Then a sappy closing monologue with non-diagetic music. I mean, I know Parks has a formula, but there's more variety and it (usually) doesn't cross into saccharine.

This is kind of OT, but did anyone else see that EW did a survey that compared Democrats and Republicans' tv preferences?

What was great was how he commented on it. "I love calzones," or something, as he munched away.

Also, Andy's hand in the fluff jar like a bear.

That accounting firm looked like Dunder-Mifflin.
