A couple of the episodes from this season have been, definitely. Although generally I think Community seems like more deliberately out there - Parks is usually somewhat real-world (and the more mad-cap stuff this season has kind of bothered me for that reason).
I really doubt they cancel Community after this season. Ratings aren't great, but for NBC they're about middle of the pack, and it'll probably get a 4th season if just for syndication.
It would be difficult for them to write Ann out of the series because her relationship with Leslie is so central. The problem is she doesn't really have anybody else in the cast she can interact with now that she and Chris broke up, and since Mark left, and since she's long over Andy.
Yeah, Todd indicated over Twitter that he's not been all that into this season so far - he liked tonight's but didn't like the last one, for example.
I'm more of a "Parks" fan myself, but I think they're pretty hard to compare because they're *very* different. "Community" is a lot more mad-cap, high-concept, offbeat. Parks is much closer to a traditional sitcom.
Ann seems more rootless this season though than she has before. I *never* agreed with the Ann criticisms in previous seasons but I've found her stories a little irritating in several eps this season, although I liked this one and the penis-related one in Ep. 1.
Yeah, I'm not endorsing it. Just that I sorta thought that was the way they were going with that.
I don't remember - something like "Looking for these?" Then she chucked them into the trash can and said something else.
Yeah, I'm not getting Steve's grades this season. I thought "Ron and Tammys" and "Born & Raised" were the two weakest of the five so far, but those were the only two A-range episodes here.
Also, couple plot points I can see flowing from this one:
Wasn't Chris being kind of a douche sort of the point behind April throwing away his keys?
On a (maybe) more hopeful note, they're also reportedly having Greg Daniels develop an adaptation of British sitcom "Friday Night Dinner," as well as a Kal Penn produced single-camera comedy set at the UN.
Actually, next week's a repeat of "Ron and Tammys."
Isn't "Prime Suspect" only running through the winter? I'm guessing they'll slot "Awake" (which has some good buzz) at 10pm Thursdays.
Wouldn't they be better off leaving "Up All Night" where it is for the rest of this season? It's doing pretty well in its current timeslot, it doesn't face very heavy competition, and it's not clear it would necessarily do any better after "The Office." It seems to me like they should leave it alone at least until…
They have three new sitcom pilots lined up: "Are You There, Vodka…," "Bent," and "Best Friends Forever". So I'm kind of anticipating they'll either cancel "Harry's Law" or move it to Fridays and fill in Wednesday with these.
"Break-evens? Oh, those are really fun! Yeah, I'll take a look at them."
So do you guys think they'll move this show, and if so, where?
No, I thought it was very good too. I think E1 was the best so far, but the last one seemed a little forced and "Ron and Tammys" (though very funny) a little too cartoony.
