Spoiler alert: it’s not going to get better for them. It’s been downhill for them since the Reagan administration, but they keep voting for the folks that ship their jobs overseas, bankrupt their pensions, pull their social safety nets, etc. Asking for sympathy while shooting yourself in the foot really only

“A lot of this is the fact that Obama was an ineffective president.”

Yeah, no change.

Why would you say that? Advanced degrees travel pretty well, you might try in Europe. If things improve in a few years, you might get a chance to come back.

To the 55M who thought Trump was a good idea...

I would say there is no doubt they are stupid people.

No one is safe from him. If he wins, he becomes commander-in-chief of our military forces. And I don’t trust him and his ENORMOUS ego to keep his TINY hands off that nuke button. I’m terrified right now. And it’s strange to be so scared while so many people I know are cheering and excited.

The problem is not so much that Donald Trump would be an awful President and set the country back - he would. But it would be really hard for any one man to truly destroy the country no matter how hard he tries. Especially when a substantial part of his own party despises him.

“The electoral college should be abolished because we know the popular vote.”

It’s just such an old-fashioned idea. It was a great shortcut for many years, but in this day and age when we know the precise popular vote as soon as we know the electoral vote and can communicate both across the entire world in seconds, the electoral college system just doesn’t make sense over the popular vote.

The electoral college should be abolished because we know that the popular vote, which is the vote that should count, is not always the vote that elects the president. And that just sucks.

Every time I’m in the subway waiting for a train, I think about how ridiculous it is that millions of people stand inches away from a precipitous drop onto electrified tracks with 100,000 pounds of steel hurtling towards distracted commuters.

Germany outlawed the internal combustion engine by 2030. It’s happening.

Vapers have replaced potheads as the most obnoxious shitheads wiht the biggest first world problems in the world.

I was more annoyed by it because how the fuck is the car gonna know?

Exactly the point I came here to make. The athletes know they’re taking a risk with their reputations, careers, and accomplishments by taking PEDs. The wouldn’t take that risk for a tiny or almost immeasurable benefit. To claim (as this author and others have done) that they didn’t really make any difference

They were already that good.

I can’t disagree with any of this take. To find someone who wasn’t doping right along with him, you’d probably have to go to like the 50th place finisher, and that guy wasn’t beating Armstrong, doping or no doping.

more like Leonidas of ‘Roids.

I installed a very loud doorbell for this reason :)
