Not true. I live in a direct democracy (Switzerland). All you need is 100'000 signatures and you can propopse any “crazy idea” you want. And then, every single swiss citizen votes on it. If it achieves a majority, it’s written into law. Done! Served us pretty well so far.

I don’t care who’s developing it or how well it integrates with whatever. I will NEVER connect anything in my home to the web. Other than my laptop, of course. Anything else, forget it.
