@mavarius: I think you're very unrealistic. The "massive potential" you're talking about wasn't there before the iPad, and the iPad created a new market for tablets. I don't see the alternatives winning new users at all, the iPad is what people will know and want. I certainly don't see people waiting for an Android…

@AreWeThereYeti: Actually H.264 is an "open" codec, it's just not open source or free. And WebM is possibly in conflict with the patents the H.264 group (not Apple) has, meaning it will die off it fails to survive the court challenge. Where's your WebM codec then?
