Totally forgot. I haven’t seen it listed: Saturday Market! Big outdoor market just on the west side of the Burnside bridge.

Proper list! And I second you comment on donuts. Voodoo is fine but a big “nope” on the long lines. Might I suggest the Blueberry Bourbon Basil at Blue Star.
Nope. Have seen him a lot where I lived in NE. He’s all over the place. He can pipe all the live long day. :)
“Always-on thing”? It’s not a super power or something you turn on/off. It’s the general way you process and analyze information.
Well, that’s really not how it works.
There is such a thing as mob mentality but someone who can think critically would, very likely, be aware of this, capable of self-examination and be able to adjust accordingly. Not saying it’s a magic trick but a very useful and essential tool.
It is a feature of weaponized politics but one that would be of little use on someone taught critical thinking that is capable of logic and reason and rational thought.
Critical thinking really really reeeeaaaally needs to become a part of standard school curriculum. I did a lot of looking into starting an initiative, talking with teachers, school boards etc. It’s was tried in 2013 or 14. The GOP turned it down because it “undermines parental authority and foundational beliefs.”

Not saying it’s exactly the same. History repeats itself but not verbatim.
Mocking Amazon’s Greedy Assholes?
Wasn’t this about the same story about this same time last century? Workers being treated like shit by robber barons?
This isn’t an SNL skit?
Just moved overseas (again) from PDX early this year. Downtown is great to wander about but the east side of the city has tons of little pockets. The Hawthorne district is one of the great areas to explore. The Mcmenamins theaters are worth a visit. Food carts are great, lots of parking lots full of em’. This will…
Doesn’t surprise me at all. I couldn’t count how many people have commented on how surreal everything felt when they walked outside the morning after the election and it’s only gotten weirder ever since.
“We are so fucked”
Just found this one. I found this one, as well, interesting enough to respond.
Michael, this is absolutely brilliant. Probably my favorite of your writings.
“Found the atheist.”
“I really believe that Unite The Right rally was a leftist psyop. And that 500lb woman died of a panic-induced heart attack. She wasn’t run over.”
