It would be a shame if they tried to play the “brave retired” card. If someone goes out of their way to truly serve the public, that’s really good if that’s the intent. If they use that service as an excuse for the mistreatment of others, it is a dishonor to themselves and that which they served.
What happened to all the adults? What happened to all the grown-ups? Did he even bother to ask him to move first? When did all these people become the kind of horrible shitty toddlers that would make someone want to go sterile/barren just by being within ear shot of them? I mean, holy shit, I thought Rosemary only had…
The only reason, at all, to give this guy sympathy is if he is crying because he has finally realized he is actually a horrible person and that his only legacy, thus far, is making the world a worse place to live in. If that was the case, certainly yes. Other than that, no, he deserves none.
I find it funny/infuriating that it’s very likely these people complaining about this are the same that call other people “snowflakes”.
I’m glad these guys are back. I lived there for many years and worked for a while promoting tours. The regulations for that kind of work, at the time, were expensive, ridiculous, and fairly certain were designed to be impossible to follow. These guys saved me from so many tickets.
More than any other line that’s been drawn from this is between those who care about human rights and those that only care about their own.
I’m sorry but I have to imagine this is only necessary for men who still haven’t figured out that women are actual people.
(looooong exasperated sigh) How long are people going to keep their death grip on the denial phase of all this? I can’t recall ever seeing such a ridiculous circus of techniques for dancing around an issue. The double standards going on right now are insane (I had the pleasure of calling out a co-worker and pointing…
Yeah, I got into with someone who went on about 45's wall and keeping out rapists. I asked “Oh! So we’re building walls around university fraternity houses?” My comment didn’t seem to go over well.
I will completely admit that I am still someone who is in the process of “waking up”. I guess I would say I have the basics down but I still, from time to time, realize things that kinda blow my mind. I got stuck in the typical “slavery is over, get over it.” argument with someone and asked:
“So refreshing to finally have a government that isn’t made up of delicate little snowflakes like the left is made up of.”
What I look forward to, and I mean this in a good way, is to not feel the need to go on Jezebel anymore. Celeb stuff isn’t my bag and I’m looking forward to the day when we all can go back to business as usual without this horrible state of, well, everything to report on, I can go back to nerding out on io9, and we…
Was talking with a colleague about lowering personal standards as a coping mechanism. Just getting thru one day without a reason to shout to the heavens about how much I hate this guy sounds amaaaaaaazing!
I can only speak for myself here. As far as the “feel good” aspect of this event, for me, to feel as hopeless and helpless and crazy as all of this has made me feel, to go in, in really shit weather and just see people as far as the eye can see in both directions and know this is going on all over the world... yeah, I…
Thanks for this!
This, I must admit, made me smile. Tho, I must also admit, I am looking forward to the day that “good news” returns to being something good actually happening and not just bad things not happening. This shit got old real fast.
It is so important not to get too caught up in thinking that he won’t last, he’ll be impeached, he won’t get re-elected. It would be naive to do so. As much as it was naive for me to think that there was no way this would happen in the first place. I convinced myself that it was just the insane shoutings of small…
Yep, this.
