That Dany was in danger of crossing a line has been in the books and show for a very long time. There have been cracks in her empathy and humanity throughout going all the way back to her reaction to Viserys’s death. She’s gone for mass murder more than once and usually in horrific ways — Qarth, Vaes Dothrak, various

Solid contender for worst fucking episode.

The scene where she dances with the inflatable car lot guy is maybe my favorite of the entire show.

Other people explained the answer to your question, but I want to emphasize the point that I often click on the review before I’ve seen the episode just to see the grade, which I did for this episode. An image of Howerton would have been a big spoiler for me.

AV Club has always focussed on dissection rather than a base discussion of quality. If I want a rough idea I just check the grade - if I want to engage with the analysis then I’ll wait till after I’ve seen the episode.

Sorry, but yeah, it is.

I’ve been imagining getting up at 5AM to do P90x for years now. My brain is so ripped.

From the man himself:

I think the problem is she’s too nice of a person. She can’t really play the type of asshole that would associate with these people. Instead, it came across as Mindy Kailing reading lines.

The no-kill shelter in my city (Columbia, MO) has a network of host families (all volunteers) that foster their animals on a rotating basis, so at any given time the number of animals to be adopted at the actual shelter’s site is manageable. I think that is usually a big part of any no-kill operation. Both of my cats

I have twenty year old shirts, furniture that I teethed on, and I haven’t painted my kitchen in fifteen years. The idea that people notice changes in collar styles  two years apart blows my mind.

I don’t think Jimmy really had to explain what a lawyer is to the man who owned the copier business. He knows all too well...

I was pretty ok with the ending UNTIL THE DRAMATIC HOOD THING (Who thought that would play?! It’s SO BAD). I personally am not ready yet for June-doing-a-lot-of-therapy-in-Canada (Emily will definitely have some interesting struggles for the show to explore). I absolutely believe that June would stay behind to try and

I also think it would be a way more interesting show for her to get out

Yeah, I’m really frustrated that it cut off when it did, because where the fuck is June supposed to go from here? She basically left a big “Fuck You” on the wall for Fred, so she can’t very well go there, especially without the baby. Does she have any reason to believe there’s a place for her to hide within Gilead?

Well before it kind of made sense that June didn’t face consequences since they couldn’t do anything to hurt the baby. But I’m curious as to what she thinks will save her at this point.

Greg saw them big ole ladies and wondered if he had any quintuple XL Mr. Universe t-shirts left in the van

yes, yes you are.  and stop it.

Completely agree. Nothing about her story went the way I expected. I thought she’d turn Nick in multiple times. Then I thought she’d turn June in a time or two. Then I thought she’d turn on Isaac rather than die. Then I thought Isaac would turn on her. None of it happened, and personally I think the story is better
