Game developers/publishers that do that because they see that pre-orders are way below expectations or they’re afraid bad reviews will cause “sensible” people not to pick the game up. I would expect publishers like Activision or EA to do that, but Bethesda? Not sure if this is a first. Damage control at it’s finest

I still remember the day I bought Final Fantasy VII, or the events that led to it. Final Fantasy had released in the US around September 1997 unbeknownst to me since I live in Lebanon (That’s in the Middle East). The only way you’d find out about new game releases was through Video Game magazines at the time, and
