Yeah I was thinking a marvel ARG could work pretty well, and would be a constant promotional tie in for new seasons. Pokemon Go meets City of Heroes.

Yeah I can imagine disney had a meeting and said “Which property are we making an ARG with?”

I’m sure warner brothers, sony, microsoft and all sorts of other companies have had similar conversations.

I think its sort of a chicken or the egg type of thing, where in order to actually win the olympics, you have to agree to such stupid shit and new infrastructure that it becomes a boondoggle.

How so? I mean the issue is essentially the ineptitude of the brazilians, why would you assume that chicago would have the same problems?

The game freezes half the time when you catch a pokeball, and people think the servers are good enough to effectively ping you when you’re facing the right direction...

Its weird because I feel like most of them ARE handicap accessible? Like most of the ones I’ve been to are in parks with paved sidewalks or just regular streets.

I bet you tell your kids that megablocks are just as good as Legos, and that special K is better than coco puffs.

Or at least encourage people to not stick in one spot at night.

Placing lures is also entirely fucking counterintuitive, and you basically have to guess to push on it again to get it on.

Same with a load of conventions and such. I went to NY comic-con and saw a panel where they showed a clip from a movie that had been out (on VOD) for 3 months. Like they somehow expected fans to wait until it was on TV...

I guess I would consider D.Va’s leaving the mech to be a passive ability too

Well its not like they ignored ingress. It was their only game, they put a ton of effort into it, creating huge worldwide events, lore, advertising, etc, things they DIDN’T do with pokemon. Its not like they said “this game isn’t pokemon, lets just mail it in!”

What I think though, is that they don’t really understand…

Uh, yes they did. No it wasn’t that bad or aggressive, but its not like those zipcar/jamba juice portals appeared on their own...

Live events will be amazing. I cant wait to have an actual version of that mewtwo capturing in the teaser video.

As a former ingress player, a lot of the missing features are similar things that were missing from that game too. Its a bit disconcerting, although I feel having nintendo involved will force them to change.

Jesus christ yeah. I played too, and stopped because I hit max level and then had nothing to accomplish. Thats my biggest fear for this game: No “endgame”.

And then you go to a bodega that isn’t well cooled down, before you head to the bar which is insanely crowded and hot too, then wait to get a drink... etc and so on.
