Not implementing a step down cap (some larger number for 2020) is a huge mistake and part of what happens when the regulations are approved so late. But it’s also probably what they had to do to get the bigger teams to sign off. Ultimately the long game is the right one, even if we will have one more round of

And if you preserve that “rare” mustang or corvette perfectly, in 25 years it might be worth... what you paid for it. Not adjusted for inflation.

If you are Mercedes would you rather have Lewis win a seventh championship and be the team and engine that got him there, or have Bottas win? I know which one I would choose. The long term glory is with Lewis, and If it’s at all close, Bottas’ job will be to help get him there...

I loved F1 Rejects. What happened to it?

Any ranking of classic rock that doesn’t have the Beatles and Led Zeppelin at the very top is objectively wrong. Your list is invalid.

Didn’t forget, I focused on periods where Renault was a constructor and an engine supplier. But yes, they have a long career with over a hundred victories in total.

Something has gone sideways with Renault as an engine supplier.

Watkins Glen was epic when F1 ran there. Sure, the fans burned to the ground the bus that brought a group of fittipaldi fans to the track, among other such destruction, but the track itself is genuinely great and the town is even better.

I said the best option is Long Beach, not that I expect it to happen. Why bring it up? Because it started as an F1 race (after a single F5000 race), and it was seriously under consideration before they re-signed with Indy.

It would be instead of Indycar, not in addition to. They discussed this in the last few years, and the conclusion was Indy was vastly cheaper and brought a massive crowd, so no benefit really to moving to F1.

Cars blasting down the beach, saltwater being sprayed high into the air.

Going to IMSA races has been the best fan experience I’ve ever had at a race. And I don’t follow the series. They are incredibly fun weekends full of great racing and an experience not to be missed.

Watkins Glen is AWESOME.

The job of Vice President of innovation for nascar has to be about as busy as the director of ocean port regulation for the state of Kansas.

Curious why they didn’t approach BMW or Cosworth for 2021 if they didn’t want to share engines with a works team. Both of those have a successful history in F1, and BMW in particular would LOVE to tweak the nose of Mercedes.

C8 Corvette with a 2Jz. Just to watch everyone’s head explode.

Someone more talented than me needs to make a gif of one of these going over a waterfall

I’m a car guy.. <SHRUG>

The buggy is square, not rounded on top in the back. It is all black not black and grey. It has two tiny windows in the back instead of one large one. The white reflective strip is likely a regulation of a state other than PA.

It is a fact that most Mennonites do not use buggies. It is also a fact that some do, and here in Lancaster county they are not uncommon. The buggy above is not Amish but appears to be Mennonite. I admit, I haven’t seen the white trim before, but otherwise it seems pretty standard.
