Hey everyone lets get serious for a minute - I think we need to talk about the asshole epidemic that has been plaguing Jezebel lately. I’m not talking about the beloved assholes (like myself ;) ) but I’ve talked to a few people about this so I know I’m not the only one experiencing this but has anyone else noticed a

Seeing people who have callously committed horrific acts on other people start to cry when forced to take (some) responsibility for their conduct always makes me hate them even more.

You’re a dragon truther. I get it. But it’s totally a phoenix.

How about this-fat women have limited clothing options and are often shut out from both mainstream and indie markets. We play attention to companies that make clothes for us and try to include us. Everyone needs clothes even fat women.

I feel like the “It Girl” designation crippled Gretchen Mol’s career. (and others). I don’t blame her from shying away from it.

She was also excellent in United States of Tara and other roles. She’s just getting attention now.

I just got a Lite-Brite for Hannukah and I am inordinately pleased.

It was the first movie I have ever walked out of in a theater before it ended and quite possibly the worst movie I’ve ever seen. So. Damn. Pretentious. And don’t get me started on the boredom factor. My sister and I were literally the only ones in the theater for that movie. It was her call. I called it from the

Not petty at all. As a fat feminist queer lady myself, I have zero time for people who call themselves queer feminists but can’t be bothered to be inclusive.

He’s using the term just fine this is infuriating. Migrant and migratory are totally different words. He’s comparing the family to something like birds who move with the seasons, not freaking migrant workers. He’s more intellectual than all the people misreading him.

Yeah, Brad has never seemed terribly bright. A very inconsiderate and tone-deaf statement, to be sure, but not malicious.

WHY? Did you lose a bet?

My dad always said “if actors were smart, they wouldn’t have become actors”

I agree. He seems like a really nice person who tries to do good in the world. He isn’t the smartest person in the world so when he says these things I don't think he actually realizes what he is saying. So I find it easier to not hold this against him. It's likely that there will be some sort of apology for his tone

He seems like a decent enough person but doesn’t really come across as the sharpest tool in the shed. I think many celebrities haven’t accumulated enough education to understand the implications of using certain terms - but it doesn’t stop them from throwing these words around anyway.

I mean, the teenager is being bratty but the mother’s reaction of thinking it’s a good idea to not give her daughter Christmas presents because of it is at least ten times brattier (without even taking into account that she is a grown-ass woman who should know better), so . . . we know where the daughter’s learning

Pretty hard not to project when every third word reminds us how much the mother is giving to the child. Financially and emotionally.

I can buy that the mom is frustrated, but I think taking it to Dear Prudie and bringing in threats is a bit past the line. They’ll probably both learn to develop a relationship that works for the two of them after the daughter gets used to living on her own. I’m guessing it will go more smoothly if the mom backs off a
