There was so much Beyoncé “inspiration” in this video! The dance moves, baseball bat, costume.

Thanks for the insight! I think that was the case - the ancestor in the photo had physical features and clothing that we assumed were Native American. Though now I know they were from an area that is now in or close to modern Serbia.

We are Eastern European and the first ancestors who came to the US settled near Lakota land, but I’m still surprised that the family passed down inaccurate history.

This happened in my family - three generations believed we were Lakota descendants, in part because of a photo of an ancestor who appeared to be. Then a relative took a DNA test and nope.

I’ve been stress napping through August.

This was the scam from an author I know: she solicited writers to contribute to her book, which she guaranteed would be a best seller. They would get their name credited in exchange for paying the author for the privilege and promising to buy 25 copies on the release date.

Same - an office I worked at has the whole range of affairs from emotional to drunken hookup at the holiday party to long term and leaving their spouses for each other. Every one of them acted like they were so secretive. Um no, we all see you flirting and leaving the office together.

After dumping me, this guy “John” got reacquainted with an old friend “Sara.” They had never dated. Sara’s husband gave her an ultimatum between being friends with John or the marriage. She chose being friends with John and said it was because he was trying to control who she was friends with. Within 6 months she was

I confess I was sometimes a noisy neighbor until I was annoyed by another neighbor’s noise and realized I was shutting doors and cabinets too loudly. They close just as well without slamming!

My 10 pound cat sounds like a Doberman is bounding up and down the stairs!

I loved Colossal and thought it was a great metaphor for what it’s like to be a woman in the US. Coercion, threats, and weighing the risks of standing up for yourself...

I just stood and applauded - for real. Bravo!

I just got a Tainted Love sample and love how romantic and dangerous it smells.

After a while I couldn’t stand the boredom and I started leaving an hour or two early. I was always reachable on instant messenger and nobody hassled me about it. I would’ve been shocked if I was fired because I did more than the scope of my job and was always available if needed.

I came up with as many extra projects as I could on my own and asked my managers and coworkers for extra work until they were sick of me asking. I guess one solution would have been for them to cut my hours to part time, but that would have been punishing me for working quickly when other workers either dragged out

The employer’s nuts IMO. The point of being in the office is to interact with coworkers and use the resources. Why make her be in the office when they’re not there?

Petition here:

We had one tv with no cable, one phone line...and no microwave. I didn’t even care back then.

Yeah, no products stop my frizz unless I also go through the steps of carefully positioning soaking wet sections, a lot of delicate scrunching up, and then no touching or going outside until everything dried in place. But I can get 3 good hair days out of it with no real touch ups needed before washing again so it’s

I’ve been using DevaCurl wavemaker for a few months and love it to tame frizz. But I also leave in some of the low-poo conditioner and top the wavemaker with a dime size amount of the ultra defining gel to make my waves into curls. All on soaking wet hair that I scrunch up with a towel and let air dry for 3 hours.
