Yea, it seemed to me all voices for the cartoon were voiced by central characters from this season.

My wife noticed a small but amusing detail that the ronald reagan cat had brown/red hair and the will ferrell cat had the black hair. I feel fairly certain this was intended because…oh why not? haha
"Erstwhile, on Fargo…"
Yes. You're right. An oversight on my part. But honestly, I think I sort of called it? Sorta? :)
Thank you, Libby, for encapsulating so much of what Mr. Watterson's work meant for me.
To the people wondering about the show's name this season:
I'm curious if perhaps the reason they are showing Tom as so popular, is by some strange quirk of political backroom dealing, they switch places on the ticket during the convention. Selina sees she's tanking and in a bid to save her career, obliges the idea of…
That joke is brilliant.
That's a very good point, Lucy. I think the deal with the matron probably rules out my initial feeling. I do think I could conceivably see Julia letting Tommy read letters, imagining a less cynical world view back then where forgiveness was a priority over realistic "this is the way things are" vibe. I just try to…
Definitely IRS. Just watched the last 5 min again and you can sort of lip read make out "Nucky Thompson, we are from the Internal Revenue Service and we are going to get you to a hospital"
Something like that
I honestly thought the same thing but then wondered if perhaps Gillian would have at least been allowed to write him letters. And given that she apparently wrote a lot of them its possible she filled his head if Julia operated under the forgiving premise of "well she is still your grandmother so here are the letters…
Even the casting of the Commodore. Dude doesn't look exactly like him, but his voice=wow. It's uncanny how much it sounds like Dabney.
and not only that, didn't they mention it (their man on the inside) twice in the episode? It felt telling.
Plus, this Joe Harper character feels so cool as a cucumber. A few times in the last few episodes he smiles with superiority (Nucky never notices) when Nucky dismisses him.
Looked too much like a "best in Show" Christopher Guest.
Hi all, my first time AV Club post. Woot, as the kids say…
Perhaps closer to "your father's a pimp and your mother's a whore."
I wonder if it was sort of a subtle easter egg (or not too subtle) where he was was saying (without technically knowing):
The commodore set me up with Gillian."
