I loved Belle! It was so pretty to look at - the actors, the clothes, the setting. This looks gorgeous too.

I love this bonker balls show! My favorite episodes were probably "Joplin" and "Roosevelt". Fave new word "dickfast".

Well, I was happy and excited when the US Gymnastic team won gold. Those are both emotions I had regarding people I've never met and who aren't in my life. Is that not normal?

Was it the "so" that makes me overly sensitive? Otherwise sadness and angry about a person being harassed and having her privacy violated seems pretty normal.

I love that people are waiting for them to release an "October Surprise". Like that's a good thing for transparency - to sit on information and wait until they decide others are ready to see it.

This just makes me so sad and angry. I hope they can prosecute the motherfuckers that did this.

I think it's also because she's on Comedy Central. Which they consider "their" channel.

It gives me a squicky feeling that these two guys, who have been accused together of committing rape, one of whom was convicted, thought they could tell this story without anyone talking about their past.

Yes. He only admitted to another guy being there, and gave her the guy's name, when she claimed to be pregnant.

Yes. That was before the charges. And I bet anyone who saw that movie before the charges looks at it with different eyes now.

You think "Let's fight everyone in this bar." Is a decision made of someone in their right mind?

I think it has more to do with the fact the he is the new, fresh talent on the scene and everybody was lining up to put him on a pedestal. A screenwriter/actor/director/producer combo doesn't come around that often.

To quote Nate Parker when he's talking about slavery. “Psychologists will tell you, until there is honest confrontation, there can be no healing. … We can’t just skip the healing part and say, ‘Get over it.’ It’s in me, you and the air we breathe.”

From an article I read (in the Daily Beast I believe), there was evidence that they believed shouldn't have been included. A secret (illegal?) phone recording between the victim and the accused.

So, to be clear: it's possible for one man to be having consensual sex with a consenting woman while at the same time his friend is raping her…and were not supposed to question how the jury came to that decision?

I get why the screenwriters would add that element, because while maybe not historically accurate for Nate Turner's story, it would be accurate for the times.

"but I feel like it's much more grounded in the fear that they are actually just as capable as the actual criminal of committing the violent act."

Fuck Nancy. She was a horrible friend. She knew she was going to the party to hook up but asked her friend to come along because why? Barb told her she didn't want to go, they weren't her friends, she's not a party person. But Nancy begged her to go. And because Barb's a good friend she went.

That's season two of Feud.
