A federal court ruled Texas’ districts illegal. They’re gerrymandered all to hell-my last district stretched from south of SA to El Paso, and my current one is most of the coastline. There’s some small hope there.

My old school was in a worse part of town and we frequently had lockdowns because there had been a robbery/shooting/assault nearby. The kids would freak out every. single. time.

We did a drill (I teach kinder) where we had to find something to use as a barricade, practice sitting in complete darkness with a cover on the door, etc. The coaches are somehow supposed to bring in the kids they have at P.E.? They did it for the drill but were like, IRL we would tell them to run the hell away!
