Is it just me or does the first sentence of this article make no sense?

I really enjoyed this movie and thought it was fantastic, but I do think it would have been even better if the film didn't try so hard to explain what was happening in a rational way. I would have been ok with the drama unfolding a bit mysteriously without the bit about the therapist's recordings etc.
