The pod of dolphins was last seen trying to swim to Colorado.

I agree Henry Ford said "I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be

Agreed, but again I'm saying it was futuristic because of where Ford was going relative to marketing to the Masses. Many (high end) cars over the years have pushed the technology but Ford pushed the whole vehicle as a modern conveyance for the masses instead of the horse and carriage .

The Ford Model T. It foretold the Automobile as a mass produced/desired object. There were earlier attempts at the Horseless carriage, but the T put the car on the map and everything afterwards has been fine tuning.

Pfft...anybody can convert a roadcar to a offroader - how about a railway locomotive - ladies and gentleman, I present you an offroadable M62 diesel locomotive.

Speed is never a cause of death in an accident. Suddenly becoming stationary? That is what gets you.

WHOA!.... Don't open my door unless you want a bullet buddy.

Yo DK, I put that together for under $60,0000:

This was a final design project for my intro to engineering class this past semester. Unfortunately for me it was a group project and with a limited budget, $50 I think. The fun part was playing with the color sensor and getting the arduino code to function correctly. Our idea was similar to this one but no where near

Counterpoint: The numbering system is always going to place a McLaren over a Mirage, but it'll also help differentiate a Corvette from an Aston Martin or cars closer in class/price.

I'm going to go ahead and ape a number of other comments presented below and above by asking, "What happened to Jalopnik?"

Back in the day it was even better

Everytime I read about this expeditions it completely amaizes me. It's ridiculous to think there's a Mini Cooper-sized robot going around thousand miles away, all alone, controlled from Earth.

Don't totally agree on this, as someone who is involved in anesthesia on a lot of robotic prostatectomy and kidney / nephrectomy cases I can report that recovery times and pain control are far improved due to smaller incisions, far less blood loss reducing the need for Transfusion, and overall shorter hospital stays

Can't believe this isn't here yet. BEST RALLY CAR EVAR!!

I've got a plasma cutter in my garage that does the same thing, in less time, doesn't require full body laser amour and a back drop to protect the next town over. Oh, it only cost $1200 and uses compressed air too.
