You’re not wrong. But neither of them are still in rotation the way that Rocky is. I can’t recall the last time I saw a rerun of either movie on cable or network TV. This is not to say that mass popularity should be the measure of greatness, but if no one watches a movie, does it even exist?

Rocky was a great movie, and has stood the test of time much better than the movies you mention, with the possible exception of Taxi Driver. And I saw this as someone who hates boxing.

Wow. She really hated Arrival. That was my favorite movie all year. Maybe she just didn’t get it? There was a surface story, but a much deeper meaning under that. I cried at the beauty of it.
